Heather is internationally recognised as a senior educator and thought leader in Sandplay Therapy. She serves on the Board of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST) and was the founding Chairperson of STANZA, the Sandplay Therapy Association of New Zealand and Australia.

Both ISST and STANZA are affiliated with the International Association for Analytical Psychology (IAAP), of which Heather is a personal member.​
